Our Story

QueensConnected was birthed in 2018 by two Black female health professionals who identified a lack of spaces for Black and racialized women to discuss health, wellness and sexuality. QueensConnected launched Hamilton’s first sexual health conference for women of color that year.

Between 2018 and 2020, QueensConnected conferences and workshops have brought together over 250 Black and racialized women who connected to discuss health, wellness, and sexuality in safer spaces.

QueensConnected events were paused in the summer of 2020 due to the pandemic. However, the need for safer spaces has increased given the impacts the pandemic and the socio-political climates have had on Black and racialized communities (specifically women) over the last 5 years.
